Your feet are the one part of your body that takes the most wear and tear and the one part of your body you probably pay the least attention to. Your feet need your attention in order to stay healthy and strong. If your feet aren't in the best of shape, you could end up with an injury that could leave you unable to walk properly, and you could be in a lot of pain because of it. Stretching and exercising can help your feet stay healthy and strong. Read on for a few of these things that you should be doing to keep your feet healthy.
Toe Raises
Doing toe raises can help strengthen the band in your feet and can also help strengthen your ankles. You can do this when you're sitting down, or even when standing. Point your toes towards the ceiling and point your heel out. If you are standing, try to put your weight on your heels. You may feel a stretch in the front of your shins as well, which will also strengthen the muscles in your shins as well.
Ankle Rolls
Roll your ankles in small circles to one side and to the other. Rolling your ankles can help strengthen the muscles in your ankles to prevent issues such as broken ankles or sprains. Roll your ankles daily to strengthen them. It's a very simple exercise you can do to strengthen your ankles and prevent injuries. You should do these especially if you are a runner or someone that participates in any sport.
Pickup Exercises
You can exercise your ankles and feet by practicing picking up objects with your toes. Grip an item with your toes to strengthen your arch, your toes, and your ankles as well. Pick up small items such as a small ball, a towel, or something else very small and not too heavy. You can do this while sitting at home. Repeat it on both feet. Pick up the item, place it down and repeat it at least three times.
Your feet need your care and attention. They need to be stretched and exercised much like the rest of your body does. If you are someone that has been injured before, especially with foot or ankle injuries, you need to keep your feet strong to prevent a future injury. Talk to your podiatrist about other things you can do to strengthen your feet and prevent injuries.

After suffering a traumatic foot and ankle injury, I wasn't sure how to move forward. I wanted to make things right, but the issue was so significant that I needed surgery. After surgery, I was still struggling, so a friend of mine suggested working with a podiatrist in addition to my foot and ankle surgeon. It was an excellent experience, and it felt like I had truly made some strides in the right direction. On this website, I wanted to talk about how podiatrists can help you to get your feet fixed, and how making the right choices can significantly improve your quality of life.
